Technically a legume, peanuts are rich in protein and healthy fats, and a great snack or addition to meals.
While many think of peanuts as a “nut,” it is actually in the legume family with beans and peas. They grow underground and are planted in the spring, then harvested in the fall.
Peanuts are high in mono- and polyunsaturated fats, which are healthy fats. Although this means they have many nutritional benefits, they are also high in calories and should be eaten in moderation. Peanuts are also full of protein, a variety of vitamins and minerals, and antioxidants, providing many healthy benefits (learn more).
At Core Goods, our peanuts are dry roasted and unsalted. These can be added to a trail mix for simple snacking, or used in a variety of recipes, like salads or baked goods. You can even make your own peanut butter (see recipe below), but we also have this in bulk at Core Goods!
