Known as a “superfood,” chia seeds are packed with vitamins and minerals and great in smoothies, baked goods, puddings, and more.
You may be familiar with chia seeds from the well-known chia pet commercials you may have seen on tv, but these seeds that grow into grass “hair” are actually great for your health, too!
According to an article by the Harvard School of Public Health, they are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, protein, calcium, phosphorus.
Chia seeds come in both black and white (we have white at Core Goods), and form a gel consistency when added to liquid. If you don’t like the texture of the seed when it’s whole, they can also be ground with a coffee grinder, spice mill, or mortar and pestle.
