Warm up this winter with a unique twist on chili–full of spicy and sweet ingredients.
We served this turkey chili at Core Goods last fall and it was a huge hit! We also offered a vegetarian version with black beans instead of meat.
In 2018, the Oil City Rotary held their Chili Cook Off, part of Oil City’s Christmas Past, and we entered this recipe into the competition. We didn’t win, but it was a fun way to get involved with a community organization.
This chili recipe was originally shared on The Small Town Foodie (the blog run by Core Goods Co-Owner Ashley) and it is made in an Instant Pot, which is one of our favorite kitchen items. If you don’t have an Instant Pot, you can easily make it on the stove or in a crockpot, too.
It’s similar to a traditional chili, but has ground turkey instead of beef, as well as sweet potatoes and kale, which come with added nutrients, flavor, and texture. And you can definitely skip the meat altogether for a vegetarian version!
